According to TSIA (Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association), the overall shipment value of the Taiwanese semiconductor industry reached around NT$1.9 trillion (US$63.4 billion; US$1 = NT$29.8) in 2013, up 15.6% year-on-year. In comparison with 2012, Taiwan's IC design industry advanced 16.9% to arrive at around US$16.2 billion; the IC manufacturing industry registered a 20.2% growth to total around US$33.5 billion; the DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory) manufacturing industry saw the strongest growth of 31.2% to reach around US$8.0 billion; the IC packaging industry rose 4.6% to US$9.5 billion while the IC testing industry inched up 4.2% to US$4.2 billion.
